Product Description
Glenn Rawson & Dennis Lyman
It was August 1, 1831 when the Lord addressed the elders of his Church and said "Behold, verily I say unto you for this cause I have sent you—that ye might be obedient, and your hearts might be prepared to bear testimony of the things which are to come; and also that ye might be honored in laying the foundation, and in bearing record of the land upon which the Zion of God shall stand" (DC 58:6-7 emphasis added).
Indeed those men and women who laid the foundations of the Restoration have been, and rightly should be, honored for their obedience, service, and sacrifice. What they accomplished Isaiah called a "marvelous work and a wonder." From Joseph Smith's First Vision, through the translation and printing of the Book of Mormon, the bestowal of the Priesthood, and the organization of the Church it is an extraordinary story that will inspire faith and devotion.
As a testimony comes as a gift from God through the Holy Ghost a careful and humble study of the history of this work will strengthen and give that testimony eloquence and power.
